Any requests, preferences, or modifications not specified in your completed order form are not included in your order.
- Bulk Order: A single transaction containing multiple slides or builds (two or more submissions) submitted through ModMount’s bulk ordering workflow, characterized by aggregated pricing and volume-based discounts. All builds within a bulk order are counted as one (1) referral for Customer Referral Program purposes regardless of the number of submissions.

12. TERMS FOR EACH SERVICE
Use best judgment when selecting services. Not all services are compatible with all slides or barrels. Contact ModMount support with compatibility questions before ordering. We reserve the right to use trusted subcontractors as needed to deliver any service.
12.1 MILLING SERVICES
ModMount recommends permanent coating (Black Nitride, PVD, Cerakote) for all milled surfaces exposing bare metal.
- Structural Integrity: ModMount’s engineering maintains minimum wall thickness and preserves critical load-bearing areas. Material removal never compromises component strength or function. All cut patterns are programmed to preserve structural integrity based on material type, geometry, and manufacturer specifications.
- Incoming Inspection: ModMount verifies compatibility of all selected services during incoming inspection. If concerns are identified, ModMount will contact you with findings and recommendations before work begins.
- Incompatibility Resolution: If selected services are not compatible with your components, you may: (1) approve alternative services recommended by ModMount at no additional charge, (2) remove incompatible services from your order and receive partial refund, or (3) cancel order per Section 6.
12.1.1 Top Front Cuts (Including Porting)
Decorative or functional cuts on or through the top front surface of slides or barrels.
- Options: Front serrations, cooling vents, lightening cuts, barrel porting.
- Barrel Porting: Ports machined into barrel. Requires refinishing for both slide and barrel.
- Limitations: Depth and pattern limitations apply based on component model and material. May affect compatibility with optic mounts or iron sights. May increase muzzle flash and sound signature.
12.1.2 Top Rear Cuts (Including Optic Cuts)
Cuts on the top rear surface of slides.
- Standard Options: Rear serrations, anti-glare texturing, and optic cuts.
- Optic Cuts: Precision CNC machining to create mounting platform for optical sights.
- Customer Specifications: Customer must specify optic make, model, and rear iron sight positioning (standard position, forward position, or race cut) before work begins.
- Friction Fit Process - With Optic Included: ModMount mills footprint slightly undersized, test fits your specific optic, widens pocket by 0.001” increments, and repeats until achieving friction fit—tight enough to eliminate play, precise enough to allow rock-solid installation.
- Friction Fit Process - Without Optic Included: ModMount mills footprint 0.002” larger than nominal specification to account for manufacturing tolerances between optics, ensuring compatibility while maintaining secure fit.
- First-Time Optic Requirement: For optic models ModMount has never machined before, optic must be included or ModMount cannot perform service.
- Compatibility Limitations: Not all slides accommodate all optic types due to physical constraints. Full-size optics do not fit subcompact slides. ModMount verifies compatibility during incoming inspection.
- Optic Installation - ModMount Installation (Recommended): Customer includes optic with slide. ModMount performs friction fit process and properly torques all mounting screws.
- Iron Sight Damage During Removal/Reinstall Process: ModMount will not be responsible for sight damage that occurs during the disassembly or reassembly process. Some iron sights are installed with industrial-strength adhesives, thread locker compounds, or extremely tight tolerances that can cause sight damage during the removal or reinstallation process despite proper tooling and technique. If we damage sight(s) during removal or reinstall, the damaged sight(s) will not reinstalled. ModMount will not replace, reimburse, or provide compensation for damaged sights, as sight damage during removal and reinstallation is a known and common industry risk inherent to the disassembly process. Customer assumes all risk of sight damage when selecting iron sight removal or reinstallation services.
